The air outlet opening leading from the heater is in communication with an upwardly facing basin so that the warm air is directed into this basin where it is trapped allowing the damp hands to be thoroughly and forcefully enveloped by the warm air, thus speeding up the drying process. The basin is preferably moulded on to the housing containing the hot air blower and the hot air is likely to be trapped longer if the rear wall of the basin is higher than the front wall and if the oval basin opening is narrower than the diameter of the middle of the basin. Several air outlet openings from the heater can be provided to ensure a more concentrated air circulation.
