The rapid removal of a pressing out of the line of sheet travel during the continuous mfr. of large components is achieved by arranging that when the upper ram travels upwards, ejectors push the pressing downwards onto a conveyor belt moving at 90 degrees to the direction of the sheet, the belt being provided with cavities through which the dies can operate. The novelty is that the conveyor belt consists of two endless chains in which the links are joined by rods to form a transport surface. The rods are pref. made of a permanent magnet material or from a material which can be magnetised in the usual way. The method prevents a cushion of air forming between the large pressing and the conveyor be this cushion is most undesirable because it precludes rapid removal of the pressing and thus reduces the number of press strokes possible in a given time.
