The volumetric dosing machine for loose solids, especially building materials, has a conveyor arranged under feed hoppers for each component to be measured out with an adjusting slide to determine the rate of outflow of material from it. A series of markers, attached at equal intervals to the conveyor belt or its drive roller, actuate a fixed sensor to mark the passages of successive equal belt lengths by a series of pulses which are fed to a meter, to measure the amount fed from each hopper. Volumes are recorded in convenient units, typically a litre.
