Polyurethanes from aromatic amines contg disulphide bond - avoiding toxic chain-extenders and giving rapid de-moulding

New polyurethanes contain units of formula: (where R and R1 are H, 1-6C alkyl, 6-15C aryl, 4-12C where R11 is 1-6C alkyl). The diamines used as chain-extenders are easily available; they break down to biologically acceptable prodts. Casting time of the compsns. is adequate; de-moulding time is short. The compsns. are used to produce moulded goods, e.g., rollers or V-belts, films, textile coatings or polyurethane powders. The foams are used as cushioning, packing and insulation.
