Wind protection hood for furnace flue - has a spacer ring between flue convering hood and outside wall

The wind protection hood used for a heating furnace which is fitted against an outside wall, achieves pressure balance which ensure correct operation of the furnace. A spacer ring of thickness about two centimetres is fitted between the rear wall of the hood and the outside wall. The cold outside air rises around this spacer and cools hot flue gases for better draught. The spacing ring is placed on the flue tube behind the hood rear wall and the house wall face. This spacer ring can be made in the form of a hinged strap which is fastened by a bolt through flanges situated at a position diametrically opposite to the hinge. This ring can also be fitted to already existing flues.
