The two wheels are pivot-mounted on an axle sloping slightly forwards in the direction of travel in relation to the ground. When working, each finger-wheel is supported by a wheel on the ground. Each finger-wheel consists of a number of attachment-arms fixed to a hub and extending in star-formation. Each arm has screwed to it a double sprung tine. Each finger-wheel has attached to it a swathe-rake extending backwards. The end of each attachment arm has a bearing in which is pivot-mounted the inner part of a double hinge-attachment. A perforated metal piece fixed to the inside bearing takes a locking pin inserted into one of the holes. The pin is pushed into a guide piece on the end of the attachment arm. An intermediate side is attached to the inner bearing side and has pivot-mounted to it the outer part of the two-sectioned double hinged attachment. The outer part encloses a pin to which the threaded part of the double sprung tine is attached.
