Resilient ball joint comprises ball and split socket made of tough plastics, e.g. fibre-reinforced polyester or polyacetal. In the middle of the ball is a force-transmitting fixed metal sleeve, and surrounding the split socket is a pre-stressing sleeve which may be radially split or unsplit.
