The switching relay for the flasher circuit has a single transistor in series with the relay oil, using the collector circuit while the base of the transistor is coupled by a resistor to two current paths. One path is coupled to the working pole of the relay while the second path is coupled to the open contact. A potential divider is included in the circuit so that automatic compensation is provided for changes in battery voltage. The system not only provides a flashing rate, but also alters the flashing rate w.r.t. lamp load. The system replaces a set of protective circuits in conventional systems.
