The sewage pump is a sealed unit consisting of a motor and pump. This unit can be completely submerged into the pumped medium. The pump inlet has a disintegrator for the material entering the pump. The housing accommodates the motor and pump, and the impeller is held on the end of the motor shaft. The inlet has a cylindrical housing into which the extension of the pump shaft projects. This housing has four fixed discs which are separated by spacer discs. These fixed discs have internal radially projecting waveform teeth. The shaft extension carries discs which are separated by spacer discs. Shear action is exerted on the entering solid matter by these discs whose teeth are staggered and which project into the spaces formed by the spacing discs.
