The hollow transverse box girder has an aperture in the side wall, for the insertin of a fastening plate, which is provided with threaded bores, and which serves for the mounting of an axle transmission. The fastening plate is secured in its position by a retaining plate. The side pasture is shaped as an oblong hole, and is located above the fastening plate inserted into the girder. The retaining plate engages around the fastening plate in a U-shape, in the longitudinal direction of the girder. The web of the retaining plate, slopes so much from one side of the gider to the other, that on the wall carrying the aperture, it is located on teh same plane as that aperture, while on the other side, it is located just above the fastening plate.
