The cable laying machine has a frame with a series of lower rollers interconnected by belts and linked to the drive motor, and a series of upper pressure rollers mounted in a frame above the lower rollers corresponding to the number of lower rollers. Each pressure roller has its own spring mounting above it inside the frame. The movements of the pressure rollers against their springs is limited by a series of end-stops up inside the frame. The frame is preferably constructed from members with U-shaped cross-sections. The drive motor is located above the upper frame and is linked to the lower drive rollers by a belt.
