The arrangement consists of a slide with two platforms. The slide can be moved up and down along four guides, while the guides can be moved to and fro. The up and down movement is derived from a cam driven from a motor, while the to and fro movement is obtained by an eccentric and connecting rod. Both the eccentric and the cam are driven from the same motor so that the slide is lifted once during one to and fro movement. A motor with cutter is mounted on one of the platforms of the slide, while a probe holder and probe are mounted on the other platform. The probe lies against a master key while the cutter engages with a blank. During the movement of the slide, the cutter and probe are moved from the end of the key towards the grip part. Probe and cutter are then lifted as the slide is lifted by the cam, and are returned to their start position.
