Controlled dosing of water with bleaching liquor - produced by electrolysis of sodium chloride soln

In an arrangement for controlling the delivery of a bleaching soln. produced by electrolysis of Koch salt soln. into a water line, the concn. of the product is kept constant by varying the concn. of the electrolyte fed to the electrolytic cell, which is supplied by a constant voltage source. The cell is fed with water or weak Koch salt soln. by a constant delivery pump from an unpressurised tank, whilst conc. Koch salt soln. in a second unpressurised tank is delivered to the cell by a piston pump whose impulse rate is varied to maintain a constant current through the cell. The water, or weak soln., and the conc. soln. are fed to the cell through a mixing head. The control system is free from errors induced by variations of ion mobility resulting from temp. changes.
