The crank shaft drives two belt pulley wheels of differing diameters of which one is engaged by a centrifugal clutch at a pre-determined engine speed while the other release, by means of a free wheel, as in 318745. The auxiliary components are divided into two groups driven respectively by pulley belts from the two engine pulleys. One group consists of the water pump and the generator driven by the belt from the engine pulley. The second group connects the free wheel coupling pulley with the fan and a second pulley wheel fixed to the water pump shaft.
