Apparatus for adapting the constant electrical field in rooms to the natural constant electrical field of the atmosphere comprises charge carriers in the form of conductive surfaces, lines or points disposed in the surface, edges or corners of the room. All or only one of the charge carriers may be insulated, and they are capable of producing a field in any direction in the room. They may be applied movably or immovably on or in objects, or fitted to existing architectural installations e.g. soundproofing material, facings or carpets. The apparatus includes a charge generator, an insulated charge carrier and a non-insulated charge carrier connected to the building.
