Support elements are in the form of two hinged bars which engage at the base of the pleats and longitudinally displace the curtain along the rail. The mutual spacing between the support bars which are associated with one pleat can be increased in the longitudinal direction of the rail whilst still maintaining the actual pleat and thus where there are two or more pleats forming a pinch pleat then the distance between the support bars having the largest mutual spacing can be increased to a limited extent. Thus where a pinch pleat of three folds on the outside is hung up by four loops on the reverse side the distance from the first loop to the fourth loop can be increased when the curtain is drawn by a minimum up to a certain distance whilst the pinch pleat still remains.
