The stone may have vertical holes in it through which tubular objects such as pipes can be inserted, and serve to anchor the stone down and to insert the ornament such as vase into. A magnet may be incorporated in the base of the vase, dwarf of stand etc., so that it comes into direct contact with the paving stone which can be of rust-proof steel. In the base of the ornament are screws, clamps or attachments for changing the magnets. Posts may have one or two arms for hanging oil-lamps, bird-drinking-troughs etc.
