Table tennis training installation with ball collector net - uses leaf spring deflection for throwing ball

A table tennis training installation has a ball throwing mechanism located at one end of a ping pong-table. A forked leaf spring is clamped horizontally so that the free ends of the two prongs can be deflected downwards by a continuously rotating cam disc. Collector chutes on either side of the throwing mechanism feed tennis balls onto the deflected spring prongs prior to their release. When the spring is released the ball is thrown against an inclined deflector board from where it flies across the net so that it can be returned by the player. A high net which encloses the throwing end helps to collect the balls in the feed chute.
