The press used for compacting of powdered ceramic material is used for example for making sanitary ware and other ceramic components. The die contains an elastic envelope and pressurising liquid is pumped into the die. The beam(2) supports the filling trolley (11). This frame carries a hopper(13) and the die(19) is filled by this means. The pressing die(19) contains a housing and flexible envelope. The die is lifted and lowered by the arrangement(29). The die is closed and actuated by the hydraulic press(32). Water is used as pressurising liquid in the die.
