Electronic commutation device for commutatorless motor - has thyristors in series with windings supplied from two antiparallel transistors

The electronic commutation device has a rectifying thyristor in series with each of the motor pole windings. The thyristor series circuits are supplied in two groups by two anti-parallel commutating transistors from a D.C. source. If four thyristor series circuits are provided, the first one is in parallel to the third one, and both are in series with the first transistor. The second and fourth circuits are similarly connected to the second transistor. The D.C. source feed two parallel branches, containing the pole windings, the thyristors and the respective transistor.
