Strip feed system is designed so that the edges of the strip are not compressed and deformed because of bending of the driving rollers or grips. The material is gripped between rollers by applying loads to the ends of the top roller and carrying the combined load centrally beneath the lower roller. In this way flexure of the rollers is in the same direction and the strip is uniformly gripped. The central lower support comprises two small support rollers, below and on either side of the lower roller, the axes of the lower roller and the supports being parallel. The support can be mounted on an adjustable frame. The ends of the driving rollers can move in guides perpendicular to the strip.
