Revolver with sighting aid - beam of light directed onto target by torch type fitment

A revolver carries a compact cylindrical torch casing (3) secured by means of clips (4, 5) and aligned so that a beam of light is directed onto the target when the torch is switched on. The torch can be actuated by the trigger (14) by means of a switch (13) connected by wires (9, 10) passing upwards to the torch above, so that the target is illuminated momentarily. Thus only a pair of small batteries is required and the size of the torch is suitably reduced. The torch casing contains two miniature batteries behind an enclosed bulb. The front of the casing contains a lens which forms the objective of the torch, thus producing the required spot of light on the target. The revolver is first pointed in the general direction of a target and a small initial pressure applied to the trigger. This closes the switch and energises the bulb, thus allowing accurate aiming before firing the revolver.
