A match box holder designed for attachment to a vertical face, particularly useful for motorists, enabling a match to be extracted and struck using one hand only, has a pair of springy horizontal arms (4) which hold the box, and a rear wall with a hole (2) for a screw or designed to be retained by an adhesive strip (3). An attachment (5) inside designed as an adaptor to suit boxes of different sizes can be removed to take the larger size. The upper horizontal arm carries a raised lip (8) at the front and is shaped to retain a box (9) with a lid (10) attached by a hinge (11) at the rear, to receive used matches.
