The wiper arm is mounted on a stub at the pivot of two double action arms, while similar arms are mounted on the wiper motor stub. The ends of the double action levers are joined by rods to form a rectangle of levers which is inclined to one side and which oscillates about the wiper motor stub. The wiper arm then alters its pivot point with respect to the motor stub during each sweep and covers a rectangular area without requiring any complicated gearing or cable drives. The system is simple and economic to instal.
