Marine platform construction, e.g. for drilling bore-holes in the seabed, comprises (a) a platform part, a floating part, a base part forming an integral unit, (b) flexible connecting devices for connecting the base part to the floating part and rigid connecting devices joining this to the platform part, so that during use, the base part has negative buoyancy and is placed on the seabed, while the floating part has positive buoyancy, is connected by the flexible devices to the base part and is situated below the surface of the sea, and maintains the platform part above this surface by means of the rigid connecting devices. The platform can be wholly constructed on shore and towed to its point of use in its compact form, then anchored to the seabed by means of the base and floating parts.
