Calculation system based on segment address - determinations identification transfer and verification of file contents in main memory

The calculations system comprises a central treatment unit and a special peripheral unit to record file location information. A global repertoire (or housekeeping file) maintains a record of the positions in the main memory of blocks of information transferred from the files, also their address codes, and access information. A partition system is required to coordinate the main memory distribution with he file records. Parameters are stored which include the assignations of the file to the storage record and to the main memory and the name of the file. A micro-programme is included, typically in PL/1 computer language, to check that the file details are correct at each stage.
