Electro-magnetic bistable relay - has vibration damping contact blade and permanent magnet locking relay

The relay has a magnetic core (7) with a double, coaxial winding (1). End pole pieces, formed in 'L' shapes support a permanent magnet (45) between them. The contact-carrying armature pivots below the pole pieces and is attracted to one pole or the other depending upon the current flow in the windings. The armature locks into one position or the other by the action of the permanent magnet. The contact strips are composed of two blades (23, 31) so designed and joined together that they damp vibrations. The entire relay is fastened into a can and it will operate at accelerations up to 50g without opening of the contacts.
