The incinerator has a horizontal hearth closed at one end by an insulated door. An inspection or loading door is fitted, and the primary combustion air is admitted through the loading door. The incinerator is carried in a cradle. The hearth has a horizontal cylindrical section. The secondary combustion air is admitted perpendicularly to the hearth axis and tangential to its wall and is pre-heated. The cylindrical hearth is enclosed in an outer tube to prevent heat losses. The incinerator auxiliary devices are mounted on the chassis and include a heat exchanger, a smoke scrubber and a control orifice for secondary air.
