The simulator is designed to determine the electrical activity of a physiological organ, especially the human heart, using pairs of electrodes with a contour simulating the organ under investigation. The signal sequence is controlled by a programming device. The torso (5) has superimposed on it a number of excitation electrodes. The organ under study is represented by a plate of graphitised rubber, having a resistivity of several hundreds of ohms per cm. Pairs of electrodes for stimulation and recording typically of silver, are arranged according to a rectangular array, with a greater density for the exitation electrodes in the region of the organ being simulated. Times for signals are less than one millisecond, overall times of 120ms up to 400ms, potential from 0-5 volts, frequency about 1 H3 increases up to 4H3 being possible for special studies e.g.3 fibrillation.
