The sensor consists of a phototransmitter and a photoreceiver. The photoreceiver contains means to form a spot or a linearly moving tracer starting from an internal moving part made to rotate. The cylindrical receiver has a cylinder jacket with a slit, the internal moving part and an elongated element which is placed on the inside and is opposite the slit and directs the incident light to photosensitive elements. The cylinder jacket can have, in the area of the slit, parallel deflectors at right angles to the slit, which pass on the direct incident light and prevent the entry of obliquely incident radiation.
