A safety device for a tractor designed to stop the engine when the tractor tilts beyond a determined angle, has a U tube attached to the chassis, with cap on each leg of the U, housing a plunger which floats on a liquid inside the U tube so that when the safe angle of tilt is exceeded, one of the plungers closes a switch which completes a circuit which includes a relay so that a plunger on the relay tilts a pivot arm so that a spring loaded plunger is forced down and stops the operation of the fuel injection pump. The U tube is fitted with a push button so that the tube can be by-passed when not required.
