Fuel economiser for automobile engine - uses exhaust heat to evaporate water injected into inlet to carburettor

A tank is connected by the pipes to a constant level tank. The space above the water level of the latter tank is connected by the pipe to the exhaust manifold. A water outlet pipe is connected to a jet in a heat exchanger where the water is evaporated and superheated sufficiently so that no condensation occurs as the steam passes through a pipe to the inlet side of the carburettor. By maintaining the pressure in the constant level tank equal to the exhaust pressure the water flow will be increased with increased engine power to give better fuel economy at all operating conditions.
