H.V. static converter control signal transmitter - emitter and receiver aerial use circularly polarised beams

The radio control system for the thyristors employs a HF transmitter, with an antenna for transmitting electro-magnetic waves modulated by at least one frequency which is a function of the control signal for the thyristors. The HF receivers each have an antenna and a demodulator using rectifiers and are tuned to the modulation frequency. The HF transmitter (10) and its antenna (9) are used to transmit a circularly polarised beam, with the HF receivers (12a, 12b, 15a, 15b) each being provided with a helical metal antenna, pref. with a dielectric core which is typically an epoxy resin. The external conductor sheaths of the antennae outlet cables are connected directly to the core mounting plates.
