Link type conveyor chain - pivotable in direction of supported, as well as carrying sides of chain

The chain consists of interconnected links (1) which are pivotable relative to one another about axes parallel to the carrying surface and at right angles to the direction of transport. The links may be connected by pivot pins (13) extending through boresin pivot eyes (9, 11) in each link, the eyes engaging recesses (10, 12) in the adjoining link and the recesses being provided with stops which limit the relative pivoting movement between the links. Each link is preferably pivotable over at least 60 deg. in the direction of the supported side. Each link may have a portion which is pivotable about an axis at right angles to the carrying surface and the transport direction to permit movement of the chain along a helical path.
