Spirit level for horizontal and vertical planes - has shaped body without peripheral rim to reduce clinging dirt

Spirit levels are used to check that a horizontal surface is level and also that a vertical surface is actually vertical. These tests are made using two small phials of liquid, one for each plane, containing a bubble which registers against a mark. The spirit level (1) comprises a body in which the two phial of liquid are contained in housings, one circular (13) and one a blind hollow with windows. These housings are adjacent in order to simplify the reading area (3) of the phials. The area adjacent to the phials has an 'I' section which is transformed towards the extremities (14, 15) into an inverse T shape to form a working surface (16). These extremities are in the form of ribs (4, 5) protruding from the central area (3).
