In and for a turbojet engine of the kind comprising a compressor, an afterburning duct, means for supplying the afterburning duct with fuel and means for metering the flow of fuel injected into the duct, the flow-metering means being sensitive to a parameter beta P2, in which P2 is a characteristic working pressure of the compressor and beta is a coefficient which is less than or equal to one, a programming device for the afterburning-initiation phase, which device comprises means for modifying the coefficient beta to reduce temporarily the coefficient beta during the afterburning-initiation phase, and means for automatically bringing the beta -modifying means out of action after the moment at which the fuel has actually been ignited in the afterburning duct.
