ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSUREThis invention relates to an artificial sausage casingof regenerated cellulose having a substantially homogeneouscoating composition applied over the internal surface thereofwhich has outstanding peelability from sausages processedtherein, excellent handle, and resistance to breakage and toa process for making such artificial sausage casings. Thecoating applied over the internal surface of the artificialsausage casing is a substantially homogeneous admixture of awater-soluble cellulose ether and mixed mono and diglycerides ofoleic acid having a capillary melting point not substantiallyhigher than 130°F.
