1467119 Decatizing fabrics DRABERT SOHNE 28 Nov 1975 [2 Dec 1974] 48954/75 Heading D1S Knitted or woven fabric webs are decatized without stretching by passing the web 2, supported on endless backing cloth 8 and moistened by steam or water spray at 5, around a heated mirror-finish cylinder 1, heated to 110-180‹C, whilst being pressed thereon by an endless belt 9 tensioned at 12 and driven by heated roll 6. A stationary rod 7 for straightening any weft distortion is provided. The web, cloth and belt are cleaned by brushes 18-21 disposed above suction boxes 22-25. The backing cloth may be satin or felt and the belt may be felt, metal or rubber with a reinforcing insert. A guide roll 10 for the belt 9 is axially displaceable via electrical or pneumatic switching elements (not shown) in response to displacement of the belt 9 sensed by contact sensors 13 located at each side of the web.
