1506265 Retarding and stacking sheets GAO GES FUR AUTOMATION UND ORGANISATION mbH 25 Nov 1975 [16 Dec 1974] 48377/75 Heading B8R Limp sheets, e.g. banknotes, are fed into individual pockets 11 defined by spiral partition walls 4 in a rotary drum, the walls being coated with material having a high coefficient of friction so that the sheets are retarded and ultimately halted by contact therewith. Each wall is interrupted midway between upper and lower cover-plates 2, 3 of the drum so as to accommodate a stripper plate 7 which, as the drum rotates, causes the sheets to slide out of the pockets 11 and into a stack 9 formed against a spring-loaded plate. The sheets are fed to the pockets by rollers 13, 14 at the end of a conveyer.
