1500827 Lubricating KLOCKNER-WERKE AG 3 Oct 1975 [21 Oct 1974] 40479/75 Heading F2A [Also in Division B3] A strand-guiding roll of a continuous casting plant has an axle with longitudinal bores 7 for receiving lubricant from a distributer 11, by way of passages 12, 13 in a plate 14, and passing it by way of transverse bores to bearings (roller or plain) which are supported by the axle and on which roll sections rotate. Each plate passage 12, 13 consists of two offset bores 12 and 13. There may be up to five pairs of such passages and axle bores 7 for the pairs of bearings of up to five roll sections on the fixed axle. Because of the larger section of the passages 12, 13, the plate 14 is adapted for use with a range of roll sets, e.g. of different diameters and with various spacings of the smaller sectioned bores 7 and outlet bores 15 of the distributer 11. The axle is secured to the casting plant by supports at the ends and between the bearings. Screws secure the plate 14 to the axle and the lubricant distributer 11 to the plate. Pistons 17, 18 in the distributer conduct lubricant through an inlet bore 16 to a passage 17SP1/SP and in equal amounts to the outlet bores 15.
