1382565 Wine making TOBACCO RESEARCH & DEVELOPMENT INSTITUTE Ltd 7 May 1973 [8 May 1972] 21538/73 Heading C6E Grapes are stemmed, and crushed, then the skin and pips are separated from the pulp and from each other, and the skins are comminuted and added to a pulp which is then fermented to make wine. The skin particles are preferably less than 1 mm in size. The initial crushed fruit may be partially or wholly fermented before separating the pips and skins.
