A keyboard convertor to convert the signals produced by the operation of keyboard of an electronic musical instrument into sounds has a keyboard status store to store signals produced by various key combinations. A keyboard circuit delivers the signals simultaneously and in parallel which describe the in/out status of the circuits attached to the keys. Recognition circuits and exchange circuits are used to equilibrate signal impulses. Priority circuits coupled to the exchange circuit and the keyboard code generator are used to produce the exchange circuit current. A keyboard code store for the code is provided as are decoding facilities.
