Two plates in the same plane are connected by a profiled rail layout, with two symmetrical L-shaped profile rails with vertical shock absorbing arms (22) which extend to a bowed spring (230) that connects with base of the rail. The spring end lodges behind the rim or lip (10) on the edge of the metal plate. The upper end of the upright arm of the rail is formed into a wedge shape (220) and a U clamp holds the wedges of the two profile rails together when they are in place back-to-back. A sealing strip fits inside a recess (22) in each of the mating faces of the upright arms.
