Transportable appts. for smoking and/or grilling foodstuffs and more esp. for smoking fish, partic. by amateur fishermen, comprises four closed vertical rectangular wall elements one of which is provided with short U-bend type attachments which carry at their ends externally supported hinge strips joined externally to the connecting wall elements, the other two corners of the smoking chamber also having hinge strips one of which however is supported externally while the other lies against the inside of the associated wall element. More esp. the first wall element is made in two parts, the lower part having a flap, the internally situated limbs of the hinge strip for which act as the door stop. Provides a folding smoking chamber which is much lighter and more easily transported that the usual washed out and adapted old oil drum.
