Press tool for stamping prototypes - die mounted beneath work-table fitted with graduated coordinate scales for workpiece location

A stamping or punching tool is provided with a work-table and a die in a die-holder projects through the table. The table is fitted with two adjustable stop-slides which are perpendicular to each other and a die-holder is provided which can be adjusted w.r.t. the underside of the work-table. Each stop-slide is pref. mounted on one edge of the table where the edges are at 90 degrees w.r.t. each other, each slide consisting of a vernier with a calibrated scale running along the table-edge, the stops being interchangeable and the slides provided with coarse and fine adjustment so that a workpiece can be accurately located on the table. The scales provide X and Y coordinates so that workpieces can be located without the use of templates and the setting-up time is greatly reduced, e.g. in mfr. prototypes.
