Hydraulic steering for articulated vehicle - with servo switch operated by reactive angle of unit and trailer

The coupling between the articulated towing unit (T) and the trailer (A) is fitted with control valves (R) which monitor the amount of trailer deflection. This enables the trailer to be moved in confined spaces, with the control valves (R) rotating the trailer axle. A safety interlock is fitted which enables the setting of the trailer axle to be locked in any selected position for added control. The switches are carried on the turntable on the vehicle about which the trailer pivots. The trailer wheels are turned through a greater angle than the pivot on the vehicle.
