Target tracking system with image adjustment system - keeps target image or image size and target distance ratio constant

The target tracking system has automatic adjustment of the image size. This image is kept at constant size independently of the distance of the target for example, the target image area covers one percent of the whole screen area. The device has a television camera coupled to a distance measuring system. The image on the screen represent an azimuthal projection of the air space sensed by the television camera. The optical system drive represents a regulator whose adjustment is related to the distance of the target and the ratio of the magnification by the television system to the target distance can be held approximately constant.
