Beam convergence system for colour TV CRT - uses three U-shaped electromagnets attached to common carrier

The beam convergence system, for a colour TV tube with three electron beam guns arranged in a circle, uses three U-shaped electromagnets, each of the latter being attached to a respective insulating plate, via which the electromagnets are secured to a common carrier. Pref. each of the electromagnets is attached to its insulating plate via a terminal pin, passing through a hole in the plate and soldered to the surface wiring of the electromagnet. Pref. the carrier is made from plastics and each of the insulating plates may be made from cardboard, with each of the plates having an aperture in which a sprung projection of the carrier locates, so that each plate is fixed in a plane perpendicular to the coil axis.
