The tube has an electrode common to the three beams, another electrode and a grid electrode with holes for each beam, so that electrostatic lens fields are produced between opposite holes when different potentials are applied to the electrodes. Shifting the holes allocated to the two outer beams bends them, so that they intersect on the screen plane or on the colour selection mask plane. The bending of the two outer electron beams is performed by two consecutive bends produced by lens fields at the cathode side and the screen side of an electrode.
