Conveyor slewing diverter mechanism - has motor driving belt and half of slipping clutch coupled to frame

The mechanism divers piece goods as desired onto a branch conveyor, and incorporates a slewing arm moving between the straight-through and diverting positions and carrying a motor driven belt running round pulleys on vertical axes at the arm ends. The output shaft (10) of the motor (9) is extended beyond the pulley (7) driving the belt and coupled to the rotary portion of a slipping clutch (14), whose other half if secured to the conveyor track so that it cannot turn. The clutch can be of the eddy-current type, and the motor reversible, being stopped by a limit switch (19) when running in the reverse direction. The motor shaft can be coupled via an extension shaft (11) to the clutch, the extension shaft being carried in a bracket on the side of the conveyor frame. The motor can be mounted on the slewing arm.
